Christopher

Since I was a child, I have always enjoyed films and especially music scores. Studying music in college is where my creative journey began to really take shape. Being able to make people feel something through music excites me. I feel the combined use of images and sound is an extremely powerful way to say something. Placing a keyframe in just the perfect spot (with an easy ease of course!), syncing the music to cuts, using transitions that don’t distract, or drawing the perfect mask to composite images are some examples of what excites me when editing. Editing is all about the small details adding up to the bigger picture. I also enjoy editing audio for film and social media. Recording is an art and there are many hobbyist out there. That’s why the right noise reduction and loudness levels are important so that your audio doesn’t get over compressed on social media sites.

When I’m not working on music or video projects, I like to be outside, preferably in the mountains. Hiking and biking are some of my favorite outdoor activities. Plus it gives me an opportunity to use my drone for my craft. Nature is important to me; it calms and humbles me in its many wonders. I enjoy taking my two dogs, Sabean and Evie with me when I can.

Collaboration

I believe that collaboration is crucial for bringing a project to life. Being able to listen to and interpret someone’s vision, working with them throughout the project, and being able to receive feedback and adjust is vital to the realization of an idea.

My Work Values

Quality

Good work takes time and only experience can move it faster. It wasn’t just 4 notes that made Beethoven’s 5th symphony so memorable, it was the way those 4 notes were played and the rhythm those tones lived in. Details are a deciding factor between good and great, and I pay close attention to the small details that make up the final product.

Timing

Video and audio engineering have many components to them. Deadlines will always exist, so I like to be prepared as much as possible and allow time for those little details that increase the value of the product. Being able to deliver on time requires organization and preparation.
